TATA IPL Match Report - RR vs RCB

 Second match of IPL playoffs played between RCB and RR yesterday in Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. RR won the toss and they decided to bowl first. RCB opener batters Faf Du Plesis and Virat Kohli came to open the innings for RCB . In powerplay overs RCB scored 50 runs but against Trent Boult in powerplay overs RCB batters managed to score only 6 runs in 3 overs and Faf Du Plesis gave his wicket to Trent Boult. RCB batters were trying to score runs after powerplay overs but they lost wicket of Virat Kohli who was batting on 33 Runs and in the search of big shots he gave his wicket to leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. When Virat Kohli got out RCB score was 56/2 after 7.3 overs, after Virat Kohli wicket RCB batters Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green start to build a partnership and they added 41 Runs in 31 balls but RR Off-spin bowler R Ashwin had other plans R Ashwin takes two wickets in two balls and R Ashwin put the pressure on RCB Batting line-up. On the other end Rajat Patidar was playing very well but after some overs Rajat Patidar also got out. In the end overs Mahipal Lomror played a cameo of 32 Runs in 17 Balls and RCB finished on a respectable total of 172 runs in 20 overs. RR needed 173 Runs to win the match and their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tom Kohler-Cadmore came to open the innings and they added 46 runs in 5.3 overs and Lockie Ferguson takes the wicket of Tom Kohler-Cadmore. After losing the wicket of Tom Kohler-Cadmore RR batters started to play freely but Yashasvi Jaiswal gave his wicket to Cameron Green on a scoop shot. After Jaiswal got out RCB takes another wicket of Sanju Samson but match was still in the hand of RR but RR lost another wicket of Dhruv Jurel because of poor running between Riyan Parag and Jurel got Run-out. When Dhruv Jurel got out RR score was 112/4 in 13.1 overs but partnership of 45 runs in 25 balls between Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag didn't gave any chance to RCB to made a comeback in the match. MD Siraj takes 2 wickets in overs but match was over that time because when Shimron Hetmyer got out RR score was already 160 Runs in 18 overs and they needed only 13 Runs to match and in the 19th Over Rovman Powell finished with a six and RR won the match by 4 Wickets. R Ashwin won the "Player of the match" because of his brilliant bowling performance . 

Turning Points of the match:

There were three turning points of the match. First was Trent Boult Bowling spell of 6 Runs with a wicket in 3 overs of powerplay overs. Second was R Ashwin two wickets in two balls that changed the match . Third and last turning point was the partnership of 45 runs between Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer because that partnership came that time when RR was slightly behind in the match but that partnership changed the momentum and RR won the match against RCB.

Does senior players of MI really underperform under Hardik Pandya captaincy?
