Why Indian Cricket Team didn't able to win ICC Tournaments Since 2013 ?
Indian Cricket Team is considered one of the greatest team in the world cricket. Indian cricket team has performed very well in last 10 years. But Indian Cricket Team hasn't won any ICC Tournaments since 2013 . Since 2013 Indian Cricket Team has reached finals and semifinals in every ICC tournaments but Indian cricket team hasn't won any tournaments. Why indian team hasn't won any ICC tournaments since 2013 ?
1. Playing For personal records not for team:
Indian cricketers known for making big records in the world cricket. In india, cricket fans acknowledge those players who scores fifties and hundreds. In indian cricket team, there are many players who plays for personal milestones. There are only 4 or 5 players in the team who plays for team not for personal milestones. ODI World Cup 2023 was a perfect example, where one batter was playing selflessly cricket for Indian cricket team and while other batters were playing for personal milestones.
2. IPL over international cricket:
Our players can take breaks during international cricket but they can't take breaks during IPL tournament.
3. Favouritism in team selection:
Our selectors select players in team on the basis of favouritism. If any one player is favourite player of captain, coach or selector, they will select that player. It doesn't matter whether that player has performed or hasn't performed. Because of this some deserving players are always dropped from from team.
4 . Never performed in big matches:
In last 10 years, Indian batters hasn't able to perform in final and semifinal matches. In Semifinals and finals, indian cricket team always dependent on only two players and if those players unable to perform then indian team always lost that matches. Because of dependency on two players, Indian Cricket Team hasn't won any ICC tournaments since 2013 .
5. Format mixing in team selection:
Our selectors select players on the basis of other formats. If one player performed in T20I Format they will select that player in ODIs and test squad. This is called format mixing and because of this many deserving players performed very well in ODI and Tests, they will be dropped .
