Why is Indian Cricket Team Inconsistent in test cricket in overseas conditions?

Indian Cricket Team is considered one of the best team in the test cricket. Indian cricket team is an unbeatable side in test cricket in home conditions. But in overseas conditions Indian cricket team performance in test cricket in overseas conditions are very inconsistent. Indian cricket team won matches and series in overseas conditions but their performances are not good to show the world that they are the best team in overseas conditions in test cricket.

1. Playing test matches in India on turning tracks:

Indian cricket team is an inconsistent team in overseas conditions in test cricket because when they play test matches in india they always prepare turning tracks for win test matches. Indian team never play test matches on sports-friendly pitches in india. This turning track trend started since 2015 , when Virat Kohli was the test captain of indian Cricket team. Before 2015 Indian pitches were good for test cricket but now pitches in india are very below level for test cricket.

2. Batters are feeling uncomfortable in playing test matches in overseas conditions :

Because of turning tracks now Indian batters are feeling uncomfortable when they play test matches in overseas conditions. Because in overseas conditions balls are swinging, seaming and bouncing and our batters are feeling uncomfortable to play those swinging, seaming and bouncing bowls. In india there is no swing and seam in the pitch for test matches.

3. Selecting players on the basis of performance in IPL :

Selection process in team is not good because our selectors select players on the basis of performance in IPL not on the basis of perfomances in domestic cricket.

4. Focusing on IPL:

Our players are focusing on IPL over test cricket is one of the main reasons. some players are always unavailable to play matches for Indian Cricket Team. But when IPL comes they are ready to play those matches , whether that player is fit or not fit. Harsh reality of indian cricket is, now no new player wants to play test cricket, every new player wants to play only IPL and white-ball formats.

My opinion:

If Indian cricket team wants to become consistent team in overseas conditions in test cricket, they needs to prepare sports-friendly pitches in india for test cricket. Our selectors should select players on the basis of performance in domestic cricket not on the basis of IPL.
