How Virat Kohli Changed Test Cricket From his Captaincy?

Virat Kohli is widely regarded as one of the greatest Test cricket captains in the world. In 2014, he was appointed as the Test captain of the Indian cricket team for the first time, in the absence of regular captain MS Dhoni, during the first Test match against Australia. Despite India's loss in that match, Kohli's captaincy skills impressed cricket experts. Following Dhoni's retirement from Test cricket, Kohli was appointed as the new Test captain of the Indian cricket team.

Under Kohli's leadership, the Indian cricket team's approach to Test cricket underwent a transformation. Kohli assembled a unit of fast bowlers capable of taking 20 wickets in a Test match on any ground. He emphasized the importance of taking 20 wickets from the opposition teams to win in Test cricket. The Indian cricket team performed exceptionally well under Kohli's captaincy, winning a Test series for the first time by defeating Australia in Australia in 2018-19.

Kohli's captaincy elevated the Indian cricket team to new heights in the Test cricket format. However, he resigned from the captaincy of Test cricket in 2022. Nevertheless, Kohli's captaincy had already revolutionized the Test cricket format. Today, teams play to win in Test cricket format, thanks to Kohli's leadership.
